Services

New Patients
If possible, please present your pet's complete medical history to help us provide the best possible veterinary care. Most veterinary offices will forward patients' records to other facilities if requested. Our fax number is 908-439-9250.
Checkups and Vaccinations
At Oldwick Animal Hospital, we encourage annual or semi-annual checkups, based on the health and age of your pet. Vaccinations are recommended based on your pet's lifestyle.
Surgical Services, Including Spay and Neuter
Oldwick Animal Hospital offers complete soft tissue surgical services. Patients are continually assessed while under anesthesia using pulse oximetry, blood pressure monitoring, electrocardiograms, capnography (CO2 levels), & core body temperature readings.
Spaying and neutering cuts down on the increasing population of homeless animals. Our doctors perform complete ovario hysterectomies for females and castration for males. This also greatly reduces the risk of some hormone related diseases (breast, uterine and testicular cancer among these) later in life.

Imaging
Oldwick Animal Hospital offers digital radiography and dental radiography. Ultrasound services and cardiology services are scheduled as needed.
Dentistry
Oldwick Animal Hospital is a strong advocate of dental health for pets. We offer tips on brushing and other ways pet owners can help prevent tooth decay/gum disease. Our doctors routinely do oral exams during checkups and suggest dental cleanings when needed. A dog or cat having a dental procedure will stay the day with us, as cleanings are done under anesthesia.
Microchipping
Microchips can be implanted during your pet's regular exam. The chips we supply are made by HomeAgain. HomeAgain is a 134 kHz ISO compliant microchip, which complies with ISO standard 11784 and 11785 - the standards for travel internationally. We will insert the chip, scan to make sure it can be read, and do the paperwork for the first year's registration.
Laboratory Services
We do routine testing (fecal, urine, blood) right here in the hospital for immediate results. Cultures, biopsies, vaccine titers and comprehensive blood tests are sent to an outside lab.

Pharmacy
Oldwick Animal Hospital has a comprehensive pet pharmacy for your convenience. We can even order specially prepared and deliciously flavored medications for the hard-to-pill pet! We also have hypo allergenic and sensitive skin shampoos, flea and tick prevention items, & heartworm preventatives.
Nutrition
Some pets have medical conditions that can be managed with a special diet. Oldwick Animal Hospital offers prescription food for a variety of issues, including: Sensitive skin, Sensitive stomach, Urinary and Intestinal issues, Diabetes, Renal disease, Food allergies, Weight issues, Dental health, Extra vitamins/minerals and calories for growing kittens and puppies, and Healthy and low calorie treats.
Health Certificates
If you are traveling with your pet, either domestically or internationally, a health certificate will be required. These must be completed within ten to fourteen days of travel. Please make sure you have the address of where you and your pet will be going with you, as this is part of the information required on the certificate.
